Configuration of Norton Internet SecurityThis page contains detailed instructions on how to configure Norton Internet Security to allow Dabra to access the internet. The instructions refer to version 2003 of Norton Internet Security, although newer versions of the software look very similar. Click the images to see larger versions of the screens. Automatic Configuration During InstallationMost personal firewalls will inform you when an application is attempting to use the internet and ask if you want to allow or block it. With Norton Internet Security this request occurs during the Dabra installation by showing the following popup. If at this time you select Permit from the list and check the box labelled Always use this action the Norton Internet Security software will configure itself to allow Dabra access to the internet. You will never be prompted again, and the Dabra software will function as intended. Manual Configuration of the Personal FirewallIf Norton Internet Security was not auto-configured during the installation of Dabra, you can configure it manually to allow Dabra to access the internet.
Launch the Norton Internet Security control panel: Click on the Personal Firewall label to select it. The right hand side of the screen will then show a Configure button that you must click to open the advanced options screen. Go to the Program Control tab to show a list of all applications that Norton Internet Security is aware of. To add Dabra to the list of applications click on the Add... button. This opens a screen that asks you to locate the application that you want to add. Use the file open dialog to locate the Dabra application at: C:\Program Files\Obvious\Dabra\Bin\DabraAdmin.exe Once you have selected that DabraAdmin.exe file, Norton Internet Security will ask you if you want to permit this application accessing the internet. Select Permit from the list and click on the OK button. Optionally you can classify Dabra as an Email application. Finally Norton Internet Security will redisplay the list of applications that it recognizes. Dabra will now appear in this list with the label Permit All next to it. Click on the OK button to close the dialog box. Dabra is now ready to use. Next Steps
